Art’s great nudes have gone skinny

Italian artist Anna Utopia Giordano has created a visual re-imagination of historic nude paintings, had the subjects conformed their bodies to what the 21st century considers an ideal of beauty. The results are revealing—and quite shocking in what they say about the modern attitude toward women’s bodies.

What this really shows is how misogynistic the originally artists were…. Everyone swears this is high art, Ummm no. These artists put each female in a submissive role, with a dull look, with her body in open and ready positions… all for the male gaze. The only reason we praise them now, is because “omg look how how natural they portrayed the body of these women, they really celebrated it back then.” Actually, these body standards were unrealistic to many women back then, who couldn’t afford to eat to be plump enough to meet male standards. So by making these women skinny maybe you all can look at what the majority of Western European art is…. high priced misogynistic porn.
